GetOutToVote.org is dedicated to encouraging citizens to participate in the political process by exercising the right to vote.  The whole point of the Declaration of Independence from England was the inability to participate in the political process by those in America.  Taxes and Duties were being levied and there was nothing that could be done because there was no representation in the King’s Court.  With the Declaration of Independence and the ensuing Revolution, our forefathers established a democracy providing for participation by their progeny.  This is the greatest gift they could leave for us.

No longer do we have to endure imposition of taxes, establishment of rules and regulations, restrictions on our lives imposed by others.  Or do we?  It seems we do.  The officials we elect forget who elected them and put them into office.  They make big campaign promises then forget why they were placed into office.  They forget whose interests they are supposed to represent.  They become enamored of the lobbyists who wine and dine them, of the power they now wield, of those who have been in politics for a career and the big money flowing in from wealthy donors and corporations.  They fail to bring forward and push for the change so needed to ensure all Americans have an opportunity to succeed.  While we feel as though it is all out of our hands.

There is no need for it to feel this way.  We the people can take back our government and get the representation we deserve, but to do so we must become participants in the political process.  Here at GetOutToVote.org we are dedicated to encouraging each of you to exercise your constitutional right to vote for change.  As we move forward we hope to present information showing you why it is important to vote, interesting statistics on voting, as well as, some of the issues we believe require your vote.

We will not take a position on the issues and will not promote a particular view or party.  We will focus on encouraging you to vote no matter what your political view.  We hope you enjoy each of our articles and exercise your right to vote.
