Your Vote Counts

With just over 3 weeks remaining before election day, it is time to ensure you know the candidates in your state and counties election. If you have not received a sample ballot in the mail, go online and find one.  Review the candidates, search for information on their policies and past performance in whatever capacities they may have led. Do these policies align with your expectations and direction you prefer for your county and state? Do not just look and candidates for Washington but take time to study all of the candidates for your state and county.  Be sure to look at other issues on the ballot as well.  Local tax changes are often on the ballot, and this is your opportunity to affect the outcome of any potential tax changes.  City and County Commissioners may be on your local ballot.  Judgeships can be a part of the ballot. Changes to Charters and even State Constitutions may be on the ballot. The importance of citizen participation in elections cannot be overstated.  Should we want the country as a whole to move in a certain direction, we must engage in determining election outcomes through the voting process.
