Get Out To Vote
Last updated on November 8, 2022
I Voted today. Did you? With so many issues of critical importance at stake this election, it is incumbent on every eligible voter to express their desires by voting. Citizens from all walks of life are impacted by the decisions politicians make. No matter your party affiliation, I am sure you have a strong opinion on many issues being discussed by politicians and the media.
Many say their vote doesn't change a thing. However, things would quickly change if 75% or more of eligible voters were actually to vote. Sure, there are powerful and wealthy corporations, NGOs, and personal interests pushing politicians every day to address issues in a way favoring them. Still, politicians are more interested in keeping their jobs and would yield to the pressure a large voter turnout would bring to bear.
Consider our children and grandchildren. Unfortunately, most of us cannot leave them in a significantly better place than we inherited from our parents and grandparents. But we can leave them with a government that ensures their freedom of choice and liberty to pursue their dreams.
As government grows, it can only erode the freedoms and liberties we have enjoyed. Plenty of activists will talk about equity and equality. Still, they are pushing for the power to make decisions on behalf of others. Is that what we want for our children and grandchildren? If you have recently entered the voter pool, is that what you want for the rest of your life? A government making decisions on your behalf, without your input, under the guise of doing what is best for all? They will only make decisions based on what is best for those in a position to ensure they remain in power and what consolidates their power.
Every election is important and requires our participation if we ever expect to improve the world. Get Out To Vote!
I have long held the belief voting is one of the most important rights we are afforded under the Constitution. Yet every election I see only a small percentage of those with this right actually voting. This is the right and the mechanism our founding fathers gave us to protect all of our other rights. It is imperative we exercise this right. It is for this reason I began this website.
